Aside from my own homemade stuff here’s what I have enjoyed recently. Thoughts? Let me know at Pam@PamelaSilvestri.com.

Number 1:

SEPPE — 3 Navy Pier Ct., Stapleton, 718-727-3773; Seppepizzabar.com — Best is ‘Shroom Thyme which includes intense truffle-ness plus a rich variety of mushrooms like hen of the woods. Categorically on their pan pie situation, the basting-effect created by various cheeses and smart topping combos makes each bite a downright sumptuous experience.

Number 2:

UNGARO —1298 Forest Ave., Port Richmond, 646-968-4777; Ungarocoalfiredpizzacafe.com

Pies are beautiful with carefully arranged toppings and attention to detail such as ricotta cheese piped into dollop flowers. The charcoal touch makes a super crunchy, enormously satisfying crust that can best be appreciated when pies are consumed fresh from the oven.

Number 3:

PIZZERIA GIOVE — 278 New Dorp Ln., New Dorp; 347-286-0635; Pizzeriagiovestatenisland.com

The roasty-ness of each pie and ingredient quality always ups the Giove experience into the gourmet stratosphere. It’s definitely on the pricy side for New York City but a necessary indulgence when touring the borough’s pizza scene.
