Pride aside, everyone can use a hand sometimes. Please note that Faith United Methodist Church at 221 Heberton Ave., Port Richmond, is no longer a food pantry.

NORTH SHORE

Catholic Charities Community Services:

  • Catholic Charities/Rusty Staub Mobile Food Pantry at CYO Center: 120 Anderson Ave., Port Richmond; 718-447-6330 open on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon.
  • Catholic Charities/Rusty Staub Mobile Food Pantry at Immaculate Conception Church: 128 Targee St., Stapleton, open the 1st and 3rd Tuesday every month from 9 a.m. to 10 am.

All Saints Episcopal Church: 2329 Victory Blvd., Willowbrook; 718-698-1338 is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to noon with non-perishable foods.

African Refuge Center via Project Hospitality Moveable Feast Mobile Food Pantry: 185 Park Hill Ave., Concord is open on Wednesdays from 12:45 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. There is a drop-in for donations in the lower lobby during the week. Call 718-701-4055 for more information.

Bait-ul Jamaat House of Community in Richmond: 192 Corson Ave., New Brighton. Open the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month form 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call or text 347-289-7991. The mobile food pantry program is for seniors 62 years or older and/or families that are physically disabled or homebound.

CALM (Christ Abundant Life Ministry) Food Pantry :121 Grandview Ave., Mariners Harbor. Must call first —718-273-0372. Hours are Sunday and 1 pm., Wednesday 8 p.m., Thursday at 6 p.m.

Calvary Assembly of God: 4055 Richmond Ave., Bulls Head, 718-356-4555, on Sundays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Carpenter House via Project Hospitality Moveable Feast Mobile Food Pantry: 385 Jersey St., New Brighton with hours each Monday from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Call 718-273-2769 for more information.

CHASI (Community Health Action of Staten Island) Food Pantry: 2134 Richmond Terr., Port Richmond. (Take the S40 bus to Sharpe Ave.) Food include fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, dairy and more. Open for shopping on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday from noon to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Doors close one half-hour before the end of the distribution. Best to go in person but a number is 718-808-1840.

El Centro del Inmigrante: 260 Port Richmond Ave., Port Richmond with hours on Tuesday from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Trinity Lutheran Church: 309 St. Paul’s Ave., Stapleton, 718-447-0526. The food pantry is open from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each Saturday. To gain access, guests must show proof of need such as a SNAP car to receive once-a-month groceries that families can select from a variety of items.

The Trinity Lutheran’s soup kitchen meal, gourmet by some standards, is offered from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is served restaurant-style with a complete meal prepared on premise that morning. All are welcome with no questions asked.

New Brighton Church of God in Christ: 386 Jersey St., New Brighton 347-626-4526 with hours each Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

New Direction Services: 1027 Post Ave., Port Richmond, 718-880-8773. Call for an appointment.

Our Lady of Good Counsel Church: 42 Austin Pl., Tompkinsville; 718-447-1503. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to noon. Bring ID. New clients accepted 1st Saturday of the month.

Project Hospitality: 205 Canal St., Stapleton. The pantry hours are Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon and Thursday 9 a.m. to noon. The Positive Living Dinner for HIV positive clients is also at this address on Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The website is Projecthospitality.org and main number is 718-448-1544.

Reach Out & Touch Ministries: 51 Cottage Place, Port Richmond 718-442-5007. Hours are Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Rescue Ministries SI: 2083 Richmond Terr., Mariners Harbor. Hours are Tuesday from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Mariners Harbor Houses via Project Hospitality Moveable Feast Mobile Food Pantry: At Grandview Ave. and Brabant with hours from Friday from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month.

St. Michael’s & St. Clement’s Church via Project Hospitality Moveable Feast Mobile Food Pantry: 207 Harbor Rd., Mariners Harbor with hours at 1 p.m. on the fourth Sunday of each month from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

SOUTH AND WEST SHORE

South Shore Food Pantry: Find this pantry at 48 Chisholm St., a partner with various restaurants and bakeries on the 1st Tuesday and 3rd Saturday of each month.

The open air space can be found directly behind the Tottenville High School football field. Its distribution happens rain or shine. For donations, the contact info is SSCFP@yahoo.com or go to SouthShoreCFP.com. Its coordinator Joe Preach can be reached by text or call at 347-352-1447.

Bethel Methodist Church Mobile Food Pantry: 7033 Amboy Rd., Tottenville on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month 2:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. The church number is 718-984-1277.

St. Paul’s United Methodist Church: 7558 Amboy Rd., Tottenville, 718-227-2485 with hours on Saturday to make appointments for pickup the following week.

Oakwood Heights Community Church: 345 Guyon Ave., Oakwood; 718-351-3667, Myohcc.org with hours from 10 a.m. to noon on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month.

* St. Edward Food Pantry: 6581 Hylan Blvd., Princes Bay, 718-984-1625. Margaret Moschetto is the director and takes food and gift card donations on Tuesdays and Thursdays — no clothing, please. Hours of service to the public are Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. They are not open on the fifth Wednesday of each month.

Tottenville Mobile Food Pantry: At Yetman Ave. between Summit St. and Academy Ave., every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. For more information call the main number at 718-815-0800.

MID-ISLAND

Joan & Alan Bernikow JCC of Staten Island: 1466 Manor Rd., Seaview, 718-475-5228. The JCC operates a Digital Kosher Food Pantry, with online ordering. Clients can “shop” for their food online, similar to grocery pickup services like Instacart, and then pick it up confidentially at the JCC. For the halal food pantry program, the Council of People’s Organization (COPO) operates a “client choice” Food Pantry that distributes over 360,000 pounds of food per year to low-income households throughout NYC including Staten Island.
